Does anyone else regress?!

I definitely regress to about 10 years old quite often when on my pony...and i have a feeling I'm not the only one!

For example, yesterday afternoon, my friend and I (both in our twenties with decent jobs, and sensible things like mortgages etc) did some jumping and then decided to ride bareback. Having finally got on our ponies, after quite a bit of unladylike scrambling, we then proceeded to giggle hysterically when I decided to trot, and murphy made a beeline for the gate - cue me launching myself onto his neck, clinging on and squealing until we came to a stop

We then did round-the-world, and I then decided to ride backwards, which was not particularly successful...

I do these things quite a lot....I blame it on the fact that I was never allowed a pony as a child

Is anyone else like this...come on...confess!!!?

I jumped on mine in the field in summer while she was grazing, no headcollar or anything, she decided it was fun to gallop off so I fell off!!

not so much now, as K is a bit of a nutter and don't trust her not to do something extremely silly and no doubt endanger both of us! I'm getting sensible........yeah right!

On my old horse though yes all the time, we used to ride bareback and play gymkhana games with our yard owners kids, Great fun until my monster decided it was great fun to leap in the air and gallop off, needless to say that game was knocked on the head! But used to always ride backwards etc, all the silly kid type things! Was great fun!

ooo gymkhana games...I entered them at the annual yard show. We were utterly useless...I couldn't bob for apples and Murphy made a few unscheduled gallops up and down the school...lots of fun!

being a big kid at heart I miss gymkhana games.........!!

I'd love to enter one just for the fun of it, but I know we'd be useless and K would probably blow her mind!!

haha unscheduled gallops are the best... if going in the right direction

i really cant be arsed with lessons/dressage and all that jazz

ponios are there to be fun, as long as i can stick on and steer

im happy

Jumping, hunting, pony club games, bareback hacks, huntiing... its allll good

racing up the field...

falling off....

rolling back down the field

taking half an hour to catch horse

its allll goood

I hate to admit this but yes i regress often!! Over christmass i decided to play gymkhana games with my 17.1hh WB. He does dressage & could not understand why i kept leaping off him & running round it was really funny, had to use polyjump to get back on though lol so not quite pony club games!!

Also play games of walk to canter then you canter as fast as you can to a point in the menage & stop then canter to the next & so on. It actaully makes the horse very foreward so i use it in his training when he feels slighty behind the leg. Its great fun though.
