Feel like there really isnt enough time to do everything you want? I work pretty much full time (35hrs a week) and have weekends off, but my weekends are taken up with horses, and trying to see my friends.

Dont get me wrong, im not complaining at all, as i love my life and wouldnt have it any other way. But i just emailed my mum my plans for August/September and October and realised that im fully booked already - it goes something like this:

So this is how August is looking:

4/5th - Team Dressage at Sparsholt
(6th - im off work as salon is shut)
10th - Lesson with Andrew 12pm
11th - Lime Tree Farm YHE6 Class
15th - Lesson with Emile Faure at Aderro
18th - Sparsholt N26 & E44
25th - Burrows Court N21 & E43
(26th - im going out in the evening, 27th is bank holiday)

and hopefully another lesson with Andrew on 26th

September:

2nd - Addington Novice Amateur Championships
6th - Wellington Petplan (if i dont qualify at Burrows at the end of this month)
8th - either Novice Champs at Hickstead (found out id qualified for this yesterday) or YH Champs at Lime Tree Farm (if we qualify) - i was booked in for a lesson with Isobel Wessels this day too, but ive had to cancel it

blush.gif

29th - Burrows Court N21 and either E41 or E50

Ive left a couple of weekends free in sept so hopefully Andrew can fit me in for a lesson on each of those.

October:

6th - Isobelle Wessels BYRDs Lesson
(out in evening as its friends birthday)
17th - Emile Lesson at Aderro
23/24th - BYRDs clinic at The Hand
31st - Emile Lesson at Aderro

il try and get a couple of lessons in with Andrew on my free weekends in October aswell - i thought i might just do one comp in October, not sure what yet as the schedule isnt out for October until the beginning of August.

I get exhausted just reading all that!

Is anyone else booked up that much or is it just me thats completly mad

PG - mines not like that all all - I wish it was but I can't afford it! Can't even find a local trainer so completely stuck in a rut and getting very annoyed about it
crazy.gif

Haven't competed for a year

oh
frown.gif
My training isnt local to me tho - Andrew Gould (my main trainer) is based near Hickstead which is a 2 and a half hr lorry drive. My lessons with Emile are 2 and a half hrs away aswell, so is my BYRDs clinic and my lesson with Isobelle.

Im skint - permenantly - but i want this to be my profession eventually so im willing to spend everything i have at the moment to get going. Especially as i now have a horse who can do it all, im determined not to ruin him or let him down.

Yes there definately isn't enough time, but I have the reason that I only compete when I am not at uni as 8 hours on the train is a bit too far to commute!!
I go to competitions when mum is not working so she tries to have weekends off.

I have 1 or 2 lessons a week when home. This is roughly what I am doing until I go back to uni:
21st July: Patchetts SJ
23rd July: Snowball BD
ETS: Fence judging LM friday and saturday
29th July: Classic Dressage BD
1st August: France for the day
5th August: Patchetts BD
7th August: Ardingly Area Festival
11th August: Patchetts SJ
or
12th August East Soley
18th August Patchetts SJ
19th August:Big BBQ party at mine
23-27th August Leeds Fest
5th-12th September Biology field trip
15th Sept: Merrist Wood BD
19th Sept: back to uni

Also want to try and take her xc schooling to give her something different if the ground is not too hard

When I have a horse up and running I'm pretty much like that too.
However I would always try to give myself 1-2 quiet months a year at least just to let horse and me recouperate.

Yes i totally agree - im backing off the competing after September as i want to get him out at Medium in December so il just be training and hacking him for a couple of months. He gets jumped once a week aswell

I love your sig btw

I don't know how you do it P_G
crazy.gif
especially with all the travelling to trainers

That looks pretty chock-a-block to me! But then if that's how you like it, why have it any other way? If I had the horse I'd be doing as much as I could (especially as now I've had a broken horse I realise just how silly it is to NOT do stuff when you can!). My plans currently consist of watching a few BE events, going to the Dorset Steam Fair, doing the RC novice SJing in September, and possibly trying to persuade Cookie's owner that she wants to let me take him to a Robert Pickles clinic at Hoplands in October. I'd love to be able to do more (and that's the point of having Cooks, so I can and he does) but I don't want to hog the horse!
Roll on next year when my weekends are filled with looking for a horse, and then competing said new horse!

hardly the other half!! Im as broke as can be, never have any money for myself as it all goes on the horses, and im in a pants job! However i wouldnt have it any other way! (oh and i dont live in a mansion i live in a 2 bed semi detached house with my mum!!) And my horses are kept on DIY

LOl yeah it does look very busy but then when I go back to uni she won't compete again until 1 weekend in November and then won't be out again till Jan/feb time
frown.gif

I have to share my year with my husbands hobbie... drag racing, so I do not get out as often as I would like as I have to go and support him too, plus he drives the horsebox as it is HGV and he is my groom too (the only one who will put up with my demands at shows!!) I would like to be out every weekend but I suppose I have to share...
grin.gif

Lol!! Im not organised enough to know what doing when!! Septemeber will be busy though, hopefully 3+ BE events depending on weather! Having quiet one through August though....
smile.gif

Hmmm... this is my schedule:

July
Wed 25th - P17 at Arkenfield
Thurs 26th - Lesson with Jo Graham at Croft
Sat 27th & Sun 28th - Richard Maxwell weekend
Tue 31st - Spencer lesson

August
Weds 1st - P17 & N22 at Arkenfield
Thurs 2nd - Lesson with Jo Graham at Croft
Sat 11th - Area Festival for P16 and possibly N22
Sat 18th - P17 & N33 at Croft Top

That's where I have planned up to so far
laugh.gif

Did have a really busy summer planned, but horsebox out of action for over 2 months, horse went lame and then I went on holiday so not really done much at all! I tend to spend some time with my husband in August and give the horses a month off competition, so will plan my September shows soon. It all boils down to money and time at the end of the day! I work full time but am lucky enough to keep the horses at home. Weekends are spent on maintaining the place (the fences need painting again and its like the Forth Bridge!!!), plus weeding the school, cutting the grass, etc etc...never have any spare time, but I would probably get bored if I did! On top of that the house needs decorating -moved in last year and only done 5 rooms -eek.

Just wanting to point how how lucky you all are
blush.gif
. You may all be broke but hey, someone here earns £1000 per month, keeps a horse, pays a mortgage and runs a car. No idea how!!!!
confused.gif
No horse box, not even a trailer! And I don't even own the horse, I'm lucky that the owner pays the field rent (its a field with a stream by the way no stables), he pays the hay, worming and foot trimming (when I can get the money out of him that is!!! Currently gone bankrupt!!!) So I consider myself lucky but hell guys, don't moan about having a full schedule just think about how wonderfully lucky you all are to have things that most of us dream of having. LOVE Y'ALL, just want to make you think
blush.gif
. I hope you all have a wonderfully winning time (or at least achieve your personal bests) whilst out and about.
grin.gif

ive already said in nearly all my posts that im NOT moaning
crazy.gif
And like ive said hundreds of times im very happy and i love what im doing. I was just pointing out that im really busy and that im full up til the end of October already and wanted to see how far in advance other people plan.

Dont get me wrong, im not complaining at all

above quote taken from my OP

I hate not competing, and mum loves taking me to competitions and she really enjoyed taking me to the lesson with Gareth on Sunday.
I just wish I was closer to home so that I could compete more regularly, but at the time of applying to uni Honey wasn't competing.

We definately aren't rich ,my husband and I only earn £1000 a month working with the disabled, daughter only part time since having baby.
We spend everything on the horses but we think we are very luck to have such a great life

Wow, what a busy schedule. I am slightly envious though!!!

But I am now on the look out for a dressage horse that will enable me to be as busy as you are! I have spent the last 3 years bringing on horses to sell and now its my turn to have the fun.

Good luck.

Well I have to fit in judging, teaching, working and competing. Not an easy task. I rarely have a free day and always seem to be flying round somewhere or the other. Most days start with riding then work a full shirft then usually go and teach one or two after work. I can even look at my diary as it scares me!

i bet your diary is so hectic!! Id love to do judge training, but i hardly get time to breathe let alone pack in something else - as im studying for my OU course in the evenings when i get home too
