I really dont know if its just my imagination BUT my big lad always drops loads of weight when he is turned out almost 24/7 - i cant work out if its because he self regulates and gets virtually no hard feed, if he is excercising more or indeed is stressing at all the "noises" out in the fields. Ok he is working harder, but the length of my grass and the colour of it tells me it is super fattenng.... but he has lost a good half inch this week on the old weight tape??? anyone else ever noticed this?

Mine does a little (but she also has her grazing kept a v careful eye on as she is sensitive to the sugar) and I think it is mainly because she spends alot of her day and night traipsing around seeing what everyone else is up to! She is a proper nosey girl! Even if she is turned out for a long day, she still has 12 hours stood in a stable - an extra 12 hours walking must make a big difference to the cals she uses so I just put it down to this. Tbh I would always rather she was a touch on the slimmer side so I am happy with this!

Yep which is why my boy is kept in at night still as it gets pretty cold at night, he can have some hay and some food. I really don't want him to drop any weight so being careful with him.

I was thinking this today, and my girl is only getting about 12 hours., was thinking it was a good thing she comes in on a night. Thank god I am not the only one, I was begining to wonder if we were strange.

even though got 24/7 turn out my 2 still in at night because baby is a good doer so watching grass intake an murph has gone from carrying nice weight to dropping some - does it every year bless him - 2 weeks from now he'll be looking good again - is it nature saying oppps spring grass coming get rid of excess weight and if so will some one explain this to baby lol :)
