Does anyone feed seaweed?

Bought a 20kg bag of seaweed yesterday, and started adding it into Ali's feed yesterday evening. I've heard excellent things about it, and was wondering if anyone else feeds it to their horses?

It contains quite a lot of iodine, so I know that not too much of it should be fed. (60g per day is the recommendation)

Used to, but mare decided she didn't like it, so stopped feeding as she was leaving her feeds.

I have to admit I hate the smell of it, but I'm slowly getting used to it

We have used this in the past, but twice had bad reactions to it, so no longer do.

I feed seaweed supplement but never realised you could get actual seaweed.

my old boss fed seaweed to her youngster whose coat was dull and scurfy. it really made a difference and gave him a lovely coat.
i'd def use it if i had similar probs with mine, but her coat is fine just now

I use it to improve her coat.

I used it on my old gelding to improve his coat. It made a huge difference and would use it again if the need arose.

i use it for both of mine. it is good for skin and coat. i take a small handful and split it between the 4 feeds. they don't need a lot. the bag lasts for ages.
