Does anyone follow Trina's Cobs on FB?

Yeah I follow her and am really interested to see how Grace turns out (the mare the injured herself and is just coming back into work).

I also love Yogi and he is so cute in his fly mask 🥹

She has started posting some provocative/argumentative posts but I'm getting better at ignoring those and just enjoying the journeys of the horses in her care.

The other one I like is Chloe's Cobs - she has a lovely 4 year old called Puzzle in at the moment 🥰 And I'm not even a cob person! Blooming Facebook algorithms 😂🤦

I follow both . Chloe’s cobs seem very expensive for very green unschooled beasties, and every picture I think “ there’s no way that’s x height “ . I think she has a very optimistic measuring stick 🤣 but yes lots of lovely ones

I have to say that I'm not fond of some of the responses to criticism on the FB posts, but maybe I'm just getting old. The horses seem to be introduced to lots of scenarios and the riders seem sympathetic, so they look like a good option if you're looking for a cob.

Apologises for making a horsey thread political but I'm really not loving the recent xenophobic undertones

Equally not hugely impressed by the "knobcobs" "patchy tw*t" talk.

My own thoughts about attitudes to horse behaviour and xenophobia aside, it's just not professional. And I really don't understand the growing trend of people blurring the lines between personal and business social media presences.

Wow. You've told me everything I need to know. I won't be following her.

It's a huge pet hate of mine when people don't keep their professional accounts professional.

I missed this to but I was picking up their "vibe" when they started dying manes and painting flags on ponies.

Hmm, I see that she's posted this morning about supporting what is being referred to as the 'Tommy Robinson rally' today in London. Also mentions Charlie Kirk...it's turned into a bit of an ugly argument tbh and I can't help wishing that she's stuck with horsey talk as I did enjoy following her and Chloe's Cobs, especially the videos of the horses being brought on.

I unfollowed when they started mocking people for calling out riders being too big/heavy for ponies. Tells me all I need to know.
Was this the Section A that was being hacked out by an adult rider? I didn't know what to make of that - she was clearly too 'big' but apparently that rider is very lightweight...I was going to ask people on here what they thought but I think we've had a lot of 'rider weight' threads!

Just went for a nosey 😳🫣

Stroppy strong cobs,
I’m growing to like a stroppy strong cob, they seem to be diamonds in the rough that just need some consistency, firm boundaries and TLC. Can definitely understand why people wouldn’t like them though! 🤣🫣

I agree on the rest though, why do people blend their personal lives with a professional account? Surely you could just make two accounts and use the personal one for spouting nonsense?

I think it was a little welshie, yes. I followed them years ago before they started posting controversial rubbish and simply shared sales adverts, as I was horse shopping at the time.

Lately their posts are mostly rage-baiting and the 'pony squashing' tangent, which strung across multiple posts pushed me to unfollow. A responsible dealer should be educating people on rider weight, not mocking and ridiculing people who question if a rider is too big for the pony.

If in the case of the welshie the rider was genuinely a safe weight for the pony, they could have used people's concern to create an educational post rather than share screenshots mocking people and riling up their followers to pile on.

Tbh they've gone from someone whose horses I would have considered viewing to any other trashy dealer without an ounce of professionalism.

This morning's Facebook post discussion did get a bit out of hand (very much like the Tommy Robinson event, from what I can gather!)

There's a lot of people defending the views expressed, basically saying that 'it's her page and she's entitled to her opinions so can say whatever she likes.'

That may well be the case - but why would you want to do that? What's to be gained from advertising political views on a business page? It looks like she's lost some followers and there's a general 'don't care' attitude about it, with other people saying 'If you don't like her views, why not leave the page.'
Yes, but at the end of the day it's a business. Most businesses don't do this sort of thing because getting customers on side is generally considered important.

OH was a bit shocked about the cob's mane being dyed - he saw that as a step too far!

I don't follow, but had a quick look at today's post because of this thread...

It just struck me as the same old hypocrisy seen the world over - We must defend our freedom of speech, but those who have opinions that differ on things we're not prepared to see the other side of are wrong, they must conform to what we think on those topics, and it's ok to call them whatever we like in order to shut them down. In other words, people who disagree with us on key points are not allowed freedom of speech. But we who think alike on key points must always have freedom of speech. It's only ok to have differing opinions over things that don't matter to us.

Had a look at the post in question....this thread had me curious. I wasn't upset or offended. I was just sad. She (like so many other people) is someone who's bought the right wing narrative about 'freedom of speech' and 'liberal bias' (i.e. critical thinking), hook, line, and sinker. Nevermind that Charlie was killed by a right wing yahoo who was more of a yahoo than he was.

I don't think she's a raging neo-Nazi or anything like that. I'd probably still buy a horse from her if it was the right horse. Like so many people, I think she's someone failed by society, education, neo-liberalism, and late-stage capitalism, who's bought into the far right story because it's a great story; it answers questions about why the world feels like sh1tehole right now. It's the wrong story, but it's a compelling one. It's an easy one. The real one is complicated and messy. And the left are sh1t at storytelling, and social media has f8908cked people's critical thinking skills more than they were already.

The story is that immigrants/asylum seekers/refugees are taking everything away from you. Your values, your morals, your NHS, your taxes, everthing. And why should you let these people into your country?

The story isn't that the people sucking society dry are the capitalists getting rich off it. The story isn't that we should be a place that tries to help people fleeing war, famine, etc, because it's the right thing to do. The story is that they are taking your sh1t and making your society too woke.

The Master won, not the Doctor. At least it feels that way. But I still choose the Doctor.

"I''m not doing this because I want to beat someone, or because I hate someone, or because, because I want to blame someone. It's not because it's fun and God knows it's not because it's easy. It's not even because it works, because it hardly ever does. I do what I do, because it's right! Because it's decent! And above all, it's kind. It's just that."
