Very opinionated! But usually brave & capable. We have one that's about 17.1, could walk all over you in the stable if he wanted too- which he sometimes does! We can only plait him in the confines of the lorry! But he is one of the bravest xc horses I know!
This sounds like mine! Glad its not just me. Hes 17.2 6 yrs old. Just wondering as about to ride for 1st time in a couple of weeks. We bought him 2mnths ago and he was quite poor so didnt ride him when went to see but he was only cheap so worth a gamble. Aparantly he had hunted with Ledbury 2 seasons but man was selling him as he kept jumping over the top of the massive hedges and jumping him off!! Hes put on a lot of weight now so just started lunging him. He jumps the post and rail and 5 bar gates if we put him in the wrong field - which is most days!
My friend had one - a huge mare, about 16.3 as a 4yo - long in the back and not too pretty but by god she could jump - not fazed by anything incl water tray, hacked out by herself. She seemed very straightforward, but did have a buck in her. Friend sold her as she wasn't quite what she was looking for, but nice horse.
We have a mare by him.She was tough to break but when she figured it all out she was brilliant. She is 16.3 and incredibly strong headed at times and if she ever wanted to tank off you wouldn't have a chance if she really knew her own strength but on the whole a really nice mare which has bred us some fantastic horses.
The horse below in my sig is out of her.
Yup, big, black, brave, strong, jumps anything. Always wants to go jump things, never wants to school. A bit fretful/insecure at times but a lovely character.
Call Again Cavalier, International Eventer, was by him wasn't he?
