Cranswick Stud in Leicestershire? also if you have previous owners details would you contact them to find out about the horse you now own? Just received (after texting to remind him) my horses passport (which is issued by the British Horse Database - are they still in existence?) and it seems that she hasn't spent that long in any of her homes. This has really got me wondering why. Yes she can be a bit bolshy at times but i think i am building up a bond with her (i've had her since 1st Jan of this year).

I wrote to the breeders of my horse - fabulous to get his history, plus the other doors that it has opened.

Also I think that some horses do find a while to find their 'home'.

We used to have one, and he was a very naughty boy!!

We didn't buy him directly from Cranswick stud he was from a local dealer, so could have just been a bad egg! This was a good 10 - 12 years ago as well.

He did lots of naughty things really!

Mainly rearing and not wanting to do things. He was bought as a hunter/all rounder and did eventually get the hang of hunting and was really good, if a little dangerous!

He never really liked doing show jumping and XC - would just stand and rear at the start.

he quite liked dressage though.

He was a nice horse to handle from the ground and everything, but the minute you asked him to do something he didn't fancy he wouldn't think twice about trying to kill you!! We ended up keeping him for 10 years (we tried to sell him but he had to come back for being too naughty!!) until he had to be PTS due to an injury a few years ago.

He was just the total opposite of genuine!

My dad adored him though because he was really gorgeous and had a massive jump etc., so not all bad - just mostly!

The worst my mare has done is jog well canter sideways down the road. She was also a pain yesterday when leading her back from the main yard to where she is stabled across the old sandschool. She was spinning round and trying to run off and i wouldn't have been surprised if she had tried to go up. That said tho she isn't in work as her saddle doesn't fit and i have been poorly. I am going to start lungeing her again this week. I also think as she was in poor condition when i got her and she is now fattening up she is finding her feet more.
