Does anyone have a Isuzu Trooper 3.1??

Hi, Was just wondering if anyone has a trooper and how they rate it especially regarding towing?

Did have and older one, loved it and it towed very well, but was too expensive for me to run as an every day car.

Yes, we've got an 'N' SWB reg one we've had for 5 or so years and before that we had a LWB one, both diesels. We really like them, they are very reliable and easy to drive. They tow well. We have an Ifor Williams 505 but before that we had a 510 and they tow both fine. We had Daihatsu's before that but prefer the Isuzu.

I have an Isuzu Trooper 3.1 M reg. It is fantastic for towing - my old YO has always had them and regularly tows a Ifor 510 with 2 big horses.

I have an inported LWB one and I love it. The older ones (mines an M) are perfectly fine to run on veg oil too which makes them cheaper to run. The legislation changed recently so users dont need to declare it for tax purposes (up to a certain level). I have never towed with it but plan to in the future. It is ace off road and very reliable.

I've got a N reg 3.1 SWB - it's great for towing.

Be careful using vege oil on the newer models as with most high tech diesels you may find your engine blowing up. You need to use ligit diesel and the proper oil otherwise you will have problems. You can tell I am from NI where a number of Izuzus engines blew up due to dodgy fuel.
