Does anyone have a JRT who

chases the shadows of swallows on the ground? Our Tim Nice But Dim 4yo boy JRT spends all of this time of year yapping relentlessly and running in circles, chasing the shadows!

I do adore him, but boy is he daft as a brush. He caught a rat the other day and when it squealed he did too, dropped it and ran back to the house at top speed. Hunter - no way! Only for the softest cushion..

Sorry this made me laugh!!! Boris isn't Daft he's too clever for his own good.... He knows the difference between barking on the TV and Outside, he ignores the TV and yap like crazy when a dog barks outside!!, He can lipread Walkies!, Kills mices before playing with it so it doesn't run away!
 
We've had a good few JRT's over the years but bless this one - he really is a little challenged in the grey cell dept. For example, he will spend hours in the winter jumping up and down to try and catch snowflakes

We have a huge rabbit community on our farm - in fact I think it is a rabbit holiday destination. When a rabbit runs across the yard in front of him, good old Basil-Russell runs just that little bit slower to make sure he doesn't catch it. Honestly - I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it!

Mine are really stoopid then lol. Mine go mad at barking outside, Jim (youngest) runs behind the TV looking for barking dogs. The girls don't bother with mice, Jim's managed to catch and kill just the one but he normally plays with and loses them. He's had one rabbit but mum got it off him.
 
Lol funny little dogs!

One of ours has funny five minutes, he will be playin wit his toy then all of a sudden drop it and run round the sitting room at about 50mph runs under the chairs behind the sofa....he sets himself a little circuit does it about 10x then just sit in middle of floor panting!!

Sometimes the whippet joins in but bless her and her lack of braincells she doesn't always realise she can't fit under the chairs too!
 
My dogs do that too - they have a right riot jumping on all the furniture along the way, we don't dare get in the way, they side ride the sofa too lol mad little minxes!

Lol his mum did it too, now she getting bit old tho she prefers just to sleep lol!! So funny to watch!!
 
Our swallows have only arrive in the last three days, so prob have that delight to look forward to with our 11 month old JRT then. SHe chases everything else that moves, I'm sure birds won't be any different.
