I have a NF mare whom I want to breed from - as I don't know her history and have no idea if she is registered it's pointless putting her to an NF stally as I'll just end up with having to register it has a X-bred anyway so i'm trying to get some ideas of which breeds would mix well with NF.

Opinions and pics appreciated.
Thanks

I used to ride a NF X TB. He was a very calm and sensible chap - a good family horse.
I'm not sure how, but he ended up over 16hh!!

Mine is only 1/4 new forest, the dam was NFxtb and she was successful in dressage.
My one's sire is trakehner.

I had a NFxTB. He was very sharp and sensitive but didn't have a bad bone in his body and was an excellent jumper.
Sorry, my attempt at posting a pic has failed miserably!

I've never thought about Arab X.....interesting.

I wish I still had him, especially if he magically grew a hand higher! Quirky little monster, strong but so so honest and hardy. Jumped all tracks barefoot and did roadwork with no problems, successfully competed seniors BSJA, turned on a sixpence, miss the little fella

Pharaoh is a NFxTB about 14.1hh but is growing yet again! He is lovely most of the time but can be a bit sharp and loses weight so easily. He's also very fast and loves to jump

The only pic of me riding him on this computer lol

This is the fattest he has ever been, he has now lost it all again and currently looks like a mini thoroughbred!

Mine is an odd cross (but I love her!!) NF x appaloosa:

She stands 14.1hh, doesn't have a bad bone in her and has a typical pony brain and is a bit too smart for her own good, but at the same time she has a very steady temperment (most of the time!). She also has a great pop in her for her size!

TBxNF, stands 15hh but would measure a bit taller really as he has a high wither but essentially 15hh. He is by Zara Crackle. He could jump but didnt enjoy it but was very good at dressage, A really lovely first horse. I broke him myself at 14 with little experience. Very kind nature but fun to ride. he was very good in traffic but a bit spooky and could get himself wound up at times.

My old boy as a youngster.

At 31/32. I still have him and am looking for a firend to keep him company. I am seriously considering another NFxTB baby.

I think it is a really good cross.

I have a New Forest x TB, Jasper he is in my sig below and to the left, I've had him since a baby, his Mum (Jessica see siggy) is a NF and his Dad was a TB. He is 15.2hh, very versatile and has a lovely character, I think it's a brilliant cross!
