I was sent this email by the hunt sec yesterday :-

"We are looking for a loving home for a 4 year old Jack Russell, tricoloured dog, castrated. He has a lovely temperament, a great companion, loves the car. Sadly he is being bullied. He is also micro-chipped. Please can you pass this on."

PM me if you would like the phone number.

and that is the reason they dont get identified as cockerpoos in rescues....

Was actually just about to say this, check the rescue centres for Cocker spaniel crosses or poodle crosses as they won't use the 'designer' name for them. Would maybe also wonder why the 'designer' dog was in the rescue?
You mentioned terriers in the subject, there is a Border Terrier bitch on H&H 4.5yo, just in case it may be worth a look.

Since you said terrier mix, I had a look on the Dogs Trust and OMG look at this little smiler!

Likes and dislikes: Jack is a playful little terrier who loves his toys. Jack enjoys the company of both people and dogs and has quite a few doggy pals here that he runs off lead with. Jack is not confident in new situations and around people he doesn't know but when he knows and trusts you he can be very affectionate. In his previous home Jack could be regularly found cuddled up to his owners. Jack is a clever lad and enjoys his training with the staff.

Type of home needed: Since Jack can be wary of strangers he would be ideally suited to a quiet, adult only home. He would need to be the only pet, though he could potentially live with another dog. Jack is not a confident dog so will need a kind, caring and patient owner. In return he will be your new best friend.

More about me: Dogs Trust understands that Jack may take a little time to adjust to a new home and so offers free behavioural expertise every step of the way.

Sounds like he could be a very rewarding little dog to work with:)

If you are near Essex then give Sarah the dog warden for Basildon a ring. She has a jack Russell bitch which was rescued from Dale farm, gave birth a week ago.. 2 White pups the rest black and tan rough coated, terrier crosses .. Good idea who the father is, he was also rescued from the site.

Wow thanks for the great response guys, im gonna go round my dads next week and show him this thread and the links etc. ill keep you all posted if we make any progress, my poor dad is so lonely without his dog, sometimes i feel like crying for him :(
