Does anyone have less facilities than me?????

Feel quite fortunate atm, though we have had a couple of fairly rough yards in the last year.
Currently we are the only residents on a farm yard which previously housed 30 odd horses. All derelict and very scruffy. Consequently there are lots of half empty barns, run down stables, unused dairy, milking parlour and lots of hard standing.
We've converted the dairy into a tack room and reclaimed 6 of the stables from the biggest barn, we've also got 2 usable empty stables for keeping feed etc. in. Taps, completely under cover, electricity, lights - we're spoilt. Field is very wet and hilly, but we mind that a lot more than the horses do, they have wonderful views that seems to keep them most happy. Hacking involves lots of lanes, but is really very good. Friendly neighhbour with school 1 mile up the lane, so shouldn't complain.
Just need to ensure the farmer doesn't want want any more liveries, be horrible to have to share it!

well for last year of ownership kept at a yard with turnout full time, no stables, so mud issues and mud fever and wet miserable horse. oh and outdoor swimming pool for schooling. Great hacking though. New yard, no turnout at all so horse very fresh , but nice cosy stable and use of indoor and outdoor lit schools as well as hay and straw included in livery week. There is also a round pen which is nice for her to roll in and have a little buck. I lunge in there also. But, the no turnout is an issue. The hacking is not great. I keep the others at home, where I have three paddocks, no facilities, good hacking and good stables.

2 fields - one 4 acres, other 2. Two corrals, one large enough to lunge in with a stable in it, the other is just where I feed them. And running water, 1 minute from the New Forest, 5 mins to the nearest school (my old yard!) no lights but have a street lamp!

We've got ancient stables that used to have all mod cons (about 50 years ago!). Nowadays I have no electric or water (have to carry it up from the house). No menage either so can only ride in the field when it isn't too wet. Did spend the summer putting down hardcore in front of the stables/field shelter and this has been a godsend so far this year. I can't really moan though as it doesn't cost me anything to keep them at home.

God I am so lucky! Have a all weather track to hack around which is around 100 acres. 2 schools which never get wet one 20X60 one 20X40. indoor blocks of stables. Turn out all winter. Should be thank full I think

God, you guys are all so lucky... i have a field with a water trough, thats it!!!!... no arena, no hard standing (which is my biggest pain!!!), lighting, anything. however do have very good hacking.... i just school when i hack... it is fine in teh summer but trying to pick out muddy feet is a bit pain!!!

mudd logged field, 2 stables for 4 horses, no school, ok hacking if it isnt too windy. good lights but no other electricity, cold water if i can get the key, but automatic waterers in the stables
