Not talking 4 foot, but just the odd 2 foot attempt?? I'm only asking because I ride my 6 year old in a dressage saddle that fits him like a glove and is so comfortable to ride in and he is happy in it. Storage is a pain and very limited so 2 saddles is a little impractical, i want to start to pop the odd jump (we're never going to set the world on fire) but would it be totally weird to just carry on in the dressage saddle??

I used to, it had no blocks or anything and my knees hung over the front of it but I was only popping a few crosses too and it didn't bother me

Yes I used to jump my old TB in his dressage saddle - never more than about 2'6" as I don't really like jumping anyway. I actually felt far safer and felt like I could maintain my balance far more in the dressage saddle!
