Does anyone just use a cotton girth anymore?

All these lovely fancy girths that are available with research to say they are the most comfortable for your horse etc. Often with big price tags to go with them. But i have a sneaky suspicion that my horse is preferring the plain old fashioned cotton fabric girth. Does anyone use them any more and do they cause the saddle to slip?? (Or any adverse points to using one)
 
I have one I haven't used yet as I bought the wrong size 🤦 I found one on Kramer that was reasonable and cotton, a lot of the strong girths even the expensive ones seem to be polyester.
 
Not fabric but I use the breathable gel type that Thorowgood/Wintec do. Ideal for washing off after a hack- quick hose and a brush and it's done! Tried Prolite etc, didn't rate.

Tubular lampwick girths are great, I had the leather buckle fixings changed for nylon on two of ours, to go in washing machine. Can ‘tighten up’ after washing, so re-adjust girth holes when fresh on. Soft against skin ( if kept clean, obviously), absorb sweat, look smart and grip well, but haven’t seen new ones offered for sale for ages. Other than not being able to find any, can’t think of a single downside!
 
I used cottage craft girths for years on my boy until about it a year ago when they randomly started rubbing him. I’ve still got them though - they are great and long lasting - some are about 15 years old!
 
Lampwick girths:
Fylde Saddlery, HR Saddlery, Laura Dempsey Saddles, Gateshead Saddlery.
Lovely soft, strong, cotton girths - those where the buckles are attached with nylon rather than leather are easiest to wash.
(seems Lampwick girths still very popular in Australia and New Zealand, but : import duty)

We have a couple as spare, but I don’t use them often as they don’t work so well with the spacing of my girth straps. Had no other issues with them though!
