Does anyone know about / did anyone ever meet Downlands Cancara

Yes I did, I was lucky enough to get to gallop him along the same beach as in the famous advert when I was younger. An amazing day for a horse mad youngster. Cancara was a beautifully mannered (and truly stunning) horse and his owners extremely caring of him and careful with him. Lovely people, amazing experience and a day i'll never forget :)
 
Sorry, just read the questions in the first post. Yes he was a Trakehner stallion, and 16.1hh sounds about right, certainly not much smaller, he most definitely wasn't 15 hands. I remember the pictures and how I looked on him as a tall teenager, i'd say the stat' is right.
 
I met him at horse of the year show when it was held in London - he definitely had a look at me persona, and was a lovely lad to have a cuddle with. I would have said he was 16.1hh when I look back on my opportunity to meet him there is no way he could be any smaller than that.
 
I met him at corbridge show, was very jealous when I found out later that my friend had hung around long enough for a sit on him. Was probably a good 15 years ago or more.
