Looks tempting, but not sure whats wrong with him!

Sorry - so she has. Don't like the look of that. It was eliminated first event this season, withdrawn from two (why??) and pulled up on the last. (because it was on three refusals and they didn't want another E on its record, maybe?). That said, It has done well at Novice, etc. What do you want it for? If it's PN/Novice then maybe it's suitable. The girl riding it looks v experienced - and she couldn't get a tune out of it at Intermediate.
 
I certainly wouldn't write him off as a PN/N horse based on that record but I would be very suspicious of a possible big injury meaning he is an unwarrentied sale.
 
Hunted nicely if I'm remembering the right one (never saw her on a naughty one and they could all definitely jump)! I saw her a lot BSJAing last winter and know her to talk to so I'm sure I'll have seen it jumping, just can't remember which one it is which isn't very helpful!

I'd honestly give her a ring, she's very approachable though last I heard she was in Africa. I'm guessing she's back now if the advert's gone in again.
 
I saw him at Scone last year as he was such a lovely looking horse he really caught my eye. He was in the intermediate that day and if I remember rightly he jumped a beautiful clear in quite testing conditions. I woudl say worth a look and ask them about the warrently thing. If they are willing to put that in the add I suspect they may be fairly honest as to why

Have tried ringing the rider, but no response as yet. Also its not the rider selling so no contact with owners

Most sale warranties state 'sound in wind, eye and limb' so I'd guess he isn't.

Maybe the problem is more physical than just refusing to Event?

I dont know what the meaning of this comment are you assuming he will end up in the wrong hands .The sales are not a dumping ground all the time maybe the owner has to sell.Or maybe (I dont know about this case)the owner is deceased in which case would be sold in this manner.Recently John Dunlop sold all his show horses at the ascot sales he could possibly have made more money selling privately.
There could well nothing wrong with him but the owner wishes an uncomplicated sale with no comeback for whatever reason a lot of horses are sold like this it saves the hassle of inexperienced tyre kickers wasting your time and people backing out of sales .Lets face it the market for these types isnt exactly bouyant at present.
So maybe nothing wrong with him and possibly no reserve .
 
Maybe there isn't anything wrong with him but when NO WARRENTY is added to an advert there is a reason 99.9% of the time.
It usually means that the horse cannot be guareented 100% in everyway.

There's a sale catalogue in my email inbox so I'll have a squizz (don't worry, won't be bidding against you!). I'm fairly sure that he was privately advertised a month or two ago so they have tried that route too.

More than half of the horses are unwarrantied - a lot of people always enter them as such to prevent any comeback but obviously this would include anyone with anything to hide as well as people who just don't want the hassle.

Worth a look I'd say, but try to find the people with the horse and get as much info as possible and have your cynical head on too. As I mentioned before I'm sure it was advertised in H&H previously.
 
Have tried number I have been passed on for more info, no response as yet.

Might try looking at H and H adverts.
 
I used to own a horse previously competed by this horse's rider. Having ridden mine, I would say that she is a very talented and determined rider XC - very strong legs! If he has had XC faults, it would be no fault of the rider.
