Last winter half of my pony's mane was rubbed out by her neck rug as she was fully clipped and needed it to keep warm.
This winter I'm only going to give her a bib clip so can leave her neck off.
Her mane has gown back to nearly the length of the other half but it is so thin and weak, so I was thinking about hogging all/half of her mane off in the hope that it would grow back thicker and stronger.
Although I'm worried that it won't grow back/will take a long time to grow back and I need enough to plait for spring next year.
So was just wondering if anyone has done similar to this or has had a hogged pony and grown the mane back.
Thanks.
