Hi,

In the title really... I have done Barbury, Ciren park (does that close at 5pm? As in you cannot ride around there afterwards?)

and know of a place in Ashbury but would possibly like to walk it first, so I know what it's like and where you can go... But does anyone box up to hack out somewhere around north wilts/south glos area that has good hacking??

Thanky you.x

Thank you very much. Yes I know that place by ogbourne I think, just under the bridge.

I live two mins away from ravenroost wood too, if you mean the one in Minety!! Thank you.

You could always go up to Badminton - lots of bridlepaths there including the Seven Mile Plantation. Probably best to follow OS map. Loads of parking on the roadside.

The Ogbourne ride is really lovely. All on the Ridgeway with lots of wonderful views. If you get as far as Barbury castle, the cafe (if it's still open) used to have a small turn out paddock with water trough. I would recommend that one.

Barbary Castle has loads of rides with virtually no roadwork. The hill up to the car park is very steep. I believe the cafe has been burnt down and not replaced as of yet. There is a toilet block though.

We have lovely hacking round here and the Cherhill ride takes about 5 hours, taking about 40mins to get there riding from ours....if you wanted to sometime at all, welcome to box off at ours and go for a ride round if you wanted over summer? I know the basic way round Cherhill, but there are other bridleways that go in different directions I've not been on yet either round there.
There's a few gates we have to get off and, but providing grounds not too hard there's a few good canters and gallop strips also....plus gorgious views!
