A friend is looking for a retirement home for her horse (she lives in North London). She has heard about Equine Tranquility near Bedford and was wondering whether anyone had any experience of them, or has heard anything, good or bad?

PM me if you'd prefer.

Thanks :)

I pass these herds twice a day and they look happy and healthy. Their fields are rested and rotated, there is plenty of natural shelter, undulations and fallen trees to scratch on etc. I sometimes see a person coming down on their quad bike loaded up with rugs (the main paddocks are approximately half a mile down the road from their residence and yard). Quite big herds with varying types in, one particular group all look like retired hunter types to me.

They look happy, scratching, eating, grooming. I can't really tell you anymore. If she does choose there I could wave at it every morning though!

Oooh forgot to add - they have regular, great big bales of hay in the winter.... on first impressions the horses look like they are cared for (which you would expect as a given but we all know how some places turn out!)

Just come across this question. If not too late, look very carefully, a plausible, charming owner and a pile of hay bales may hide a very different reality. I could pm more details if wanted
