My friend and I are starting to take in neglected horses, it all started when my own horses were stolen and we would travel to fairs incase we seen them. When at one recently i noticed a lovely 14.2hh mare that was skin and bones. I never seen a horse look so bad and it really broke my heart.

I overheard the man telling someone that the mare could starve to death for all he cared, when he went into the pen with her she shied to the back and this seemed to enrage him as he started to beat her.

Long story short, we agreed on a price. Hubby was going mad as he felt i let my heart rule my head.

Shes putting on some weight and is a very loving girl. I plan to loan her when shes completely ready. At the same time my friend rescued a gelding, its really made us want to do this full time. We wont be making money but we dont care, we both have a 110% love for horses and thats what is driving us.

She has recently moved to a house with a block of 12 stables, shes getting another block of 6 and she has a couple of stables by themselves that we plan to use as quarantine. We talked to the local farmer who has agreed to rent us the 2 fields right beside her house.

Now we need to get rugs etc, i remembered my old farrier saying he took trips to Manchester and came back with rugs etc and said he got them at wholesale price. He would sell them on at a cheap price. The rugs make were best on horse and they were quite good. Ive asked him if he would tell me where the place was and hes refused, said if i want the stuff then i buy from him.

Can anyone think of a place in manchester that would sell horse rugs, headcollars etc? The rug makes definitely were Best On Horse.

Thanks in advance
