Does anyone let their horses drink rainwater?

Don't have a horse but do have a cat which refuses to drink tap water. I try to avoid leaving buckets etc around dirty as he would rather drink from them than from the birdbaths which are regularly scrubbed out. (He's old and lazy, the birds aren't scared of him)

Um yes. I dont have much choice in letting them although in my case I would rather they didn't. My reasoning - I don't lug huge barrels of water about for a laugh for the ungrateful sods only to watch them drink out of the puddle in their field which is a run off from both the motorway and main road.

Ungrateful spoilt toads!

Yes I would prefer collected rain water over chemically tap water any day, can't think why anyone wouldn't! Would let them drink from puddles unless it was some sort of stagnant swamp!

yes, there is a bucket in the field which we just leave to collect rain water...and since I live in Cumbria it fills up pretty quickly lol! :)
