I have only ever known one and I owned her, she was the horse from hell !!
She had to be sold in the end to someone who stood a chance of sorting her out, I valued my health far 2 much to persevere with her, she was in my opinion dangerous, but to them a challenge.

You're one looks lovely, very similar to the one I had - hopes she behaves better x

Oh god,i am sorry your experience was bad!!I must admit i think i have been very lucky with mine, her temperment is fab,she loves her work and is dedicated to it but dont get me wrong there is days when i have to put her back in her place as she is a dominate character but i think she respects me for it and she understands when i am not happy,i normally say shes like a cob on the ground and can be to ride, but if i need her to get up and go shes got the tb for it,if this makes sense?x

My first horse and horse of a lifetime was cob with tb in there. He was a true gent, with such a sensible head on him especially on a youngster, so loving and so sensitive. :)

Thats life, some horses are just an awful handful. Didn't put me off buying more tho lol.
Sounds like you have a nice horse, and you're right about respect, having their respect is so important or they just trample all over you - literally in some cases! x

Naturally you have hit the nail right on the head, she is very sensitive and incredibly loving and i would like to think we have a great bond, glad to hear you have had a good experience.
Missyme i have had my fair bit of trampling from my toes to my chest as a kid, that was painful!!lol, but i am still in it just like you are and i think sometimes it can make you a stronger person,i have also always preffered working with youngsters, some people call me crazy but a blank canvas and something so innocent to start off with at the beginning and looking back at what i have achieved with my girl i would definetly turn back time and do it all over again with my girl she has been so rewarding!!But this baby is for keeps as shes too special!!x

Having a crazy day,but just to show you how chilled she is-

i have one :D
shes has no stable manars but thats not cause her breed its how shes been let get away with murder in her old homes
on board she can be strong and a pain in the bum as stubbon but she know her job and she jumps all night long if you wanted her too :)
shes only a little 15.1hh whos jumped 140cm spread and has arthuritis << take notice i know two cob x tbs with a mild arthurits it dont stop them jumping ect ect but just watch out
but i think there a great breed :) better than JUST a tb :D x

I own a welsh cob x tb and have had her 7 yrs, love her to bits but she can be a maddam at times. I bought her cheap as a project to work with and the first time out she went up and over. She's 16 now and is very forward going and differcult to ride but hunting has made this horse and she is fab, jumps anything and perfect manners on the field. Team chasing she also enjoys but take her hacking and boy you have a job on your hands. Dressage is a no go area which I find boring anyway, she loves the action and that's that.

I have only had one experience with a cob x tb, argh bad experience. Was bargy and stubborn and very sharp! Horrible to handle and was very sharp, learnt a lot though so I can't explain! :)

The two foster boys I raised are by TBs out of cob mares, they both have lovely natures in spite of being raised on a bucket and they're ready to be sold now. We've gone from this -

Maesfen they are gorgeous, infact its slightly scary how your baby in the third picture looks like my girl in a lot af ways!!!they look great though and fabby!Sorry to hear from everyone that has had a bad experience wish i could drag you all up mine to meet and ride my girl, lol, definetly will keep that in mind about the athritis, cheers.xx

I think she is lovely, I have had a couple cob x tb, and apart from a few manner problems in the stable, they have been fantastic, jump anything at any height with superb style, and always quiet on the rodes and excellent to school, they have the energy of the tb and quietness of the cob, but I am sure there are exceptions to this. Good luck with her

Ah Blacksabbeth, I love your girlie, she is so beautiful. I loved your photo post from when she was a baby up to present day! :)

I've replied on your threads before about my coloured Rox, he is TB x Traditional cob. He is a lovely well headed chap, oozes personality and character. I do firmly handle him as he is so over confident in himself, he can come across bolshy. His handling manners are fantasic, he is eager to learn and easy to teach. He is very well behaved for a 2 year old, and I hope he is going to be as good as my horse of a life time Sammi, the bay in my signature. xx :)
