Does anyone like hair and feathers???

Connies are meant to have feather, right? Because my little chap has sort of fluffy legwarmer type hair, especially on his fronts. Starts at the back of his knees!

I can appreciate a fine looking traditional type with a long mane and feathers, but it's not the sort of horse I'd choose to own. Alf is half Shire, and would grow feather if I let him, but I prefer him pulled and trimmed to within an inch of his life. Hes a tiny bit common, and looks far better scalped. I have a photo of him with a long mane, and you wouldn't recognise him - it makes me shudder! He's looking a bit feral at the moment, and I absolutely hate it!

My poor Shire-TB has to put up with this look for the winter:

That earlier pic wearing the blue saddle pad shows what her neck cover did to her lovely mane last winter. I'd rather put up with the silly braids than cut it off.

She's the same breed as Alf, but she has a prettier face, so can get away with a long mane! He just looks common!
