I make my own with the following-

10ml citronella
4 tbsp malt vinegar
3 Cups strong tea
2 garlic heads chopped
top up with cold water to 2 litres

leave overnight with top off and then drain garlic next day.
Works really well! Stinks to the high heavens though

I get my oils from Sainsburys. The Citronella is about £2.99 for 100ml. They order them in specially for me on the pharmacy bit. Don't know if its the same stuff that goes in the burners - I know its whats used for aromatherapy. Hope that helps

Someone on here pm'd me the recipe which used methylated spirit, vinegar, citronella oil, cold tea and water and I added a squirt of lemon washing up liquid - made some up and it is working a treat, spray it round the stable as well which helps. I got the citronella oil from the chemist. Don't forget to check a small spray on your horse somewhere and leave it overnight to make sure they don't react.

I make up:

a jug of strong tea 4-5 tea bags, let it go cold tip it into a 2l empty bottle and add
Citronella,
Tea Tree,
Cedar Wood,
Lavender,
Eucalyptus (all essential oils from www.essentialoilsdirect - dirt cheap compared to the shops)
2 caps of Dettol

then fill bottle to top with water. It works really well and everyone at my yard uses it now!!!

oh thats what i use except i add half a cup of cider vinegar and some crushed garlic. its really works and you can make loads at a fraction of the price.
