Just asking because I am planning on saving up for a dressage saddle for Soap (well we have the white bandages now so it was bound to escalate! ;) ) and I LOVE my Exselle Debut close contact it's been BRILLIANT and everything that has ever worn it, no sore backs, no slipping, nothing more than diff saddle cloths and the odd riser pad ever needed to get it perfect so I wanted to stick with the brand for my dressage saddle.

Exselle dressage saddles seem a bit few and far between so I would like to hear from anyone who has/had one and your opinions on them...

Thankies :)

A mug of Earl Grey, a trip to the post office, and a mad dash to Scatts to buy feed in my lunch break is all that's on offer today! :)

my friend has one - i havent sat in it but jesus it is so straight cut the flap actually looks backward. She has had to lower her stirrups 5 holes to ride in it without her knee over the flap, she thinks lowering her stirrups has made her have a deeper seat - it hasnt just made her lower leg insecure.
seat looks nice but get one with a more forward cut flap.

Only owned a Exselle GP in the past but it was a better dressage saddle than jumping that's for sure (maybe down to my weird leg length)! Did really like it for flatwork and sensitive TB went very well in it, was very comfortable deep seat so can imagine dressage saddle would be lovely. I think if the jump saddle fits horse (and you) well, you will find dressage will be good also. I now seem to end up with Albion jump and dressage saddles no matter what I try - type just seem to fit me and my horses.

Most brands will have some deep seats and some less so, so whether this one was probably has no bearing on whatever decision you're facing (might be an idea to post a new post if you have saddle questions?). And that's without getting into my usual discussion of whether a deep seat is ever actually a good thing, or whether it's better to find stability for the pelvis from the actual shape of the bit of the seat you sit ON rather than between....☺️
