Does anyone part loan their competition horse..?

I'm thinking about part loaning my boy out.

He is generally a sensible type but has that bit about him that makes him competitive. He competes BD and BE (both low level but has the ability to go up the grades with the dressage).

So for those of you who part loan your horses, what sort of arrangement do you have? Does the loaner ride on specific days, what 'rules' do you have and if you don't mind telling me, how much do they contribute financially.

I just have no idea where to start with it really.

I part loan a horse belonging to _jetset_ on here. She competes at Medium with her, while I potter about and do the odd Prelim. I school, have lessons, do clinics etc. I let her know the week before what days I will do the following week, but this is because I do shifts.
I contribute financially (would rather not say) but average around here seems to be £25 a week.
Rules... er don't really have any! I have owned horses all my life so am experienced enough (I hope!) to not do stupid things. For instance I wouldn't hurtle around on hard ground, or ride on the massively busy main road. I treat her as if she is my own, and I care for her just as much.
If I am going to be up one day, but she is competing, then I would probably go along and groom, and swap for another day. I think a little bit of flexibility on both sides is needed. Also honesty, I have had massive, massive confidence issues, but jetset knows about them, and if I have a bad day, or something happened then I would tell her

Sort of. I have a competition horse that is kept with me at home. A rider comes to me and schools her whenever she wants, usually four times a week. I pay all expenses, pay for her lessons and pay for competition entries. She has the benefit of riding a really good horse, I benefit from my horse being schooled and competed.

I used to have my own, but sold when kids came.
I know how difficult it is to find a loanee, been there myself!
 
i loan my competition horse out for 3 days a week as i dont have time to go up everyday anymore. my sharer just texts on a monday saying which days she wants that week, she doesnt feel that confident at the moment so doesnt compete so we dont have any rules on that but if we both wanted to do competition we would just do different classes.
