Hi :)

I'm thinking about renewing my Windsor permit but my friend who normally comes with me isn't going to renew hers.

I wondered if anyone on Hho had a permit that would be up for riding there occasionally? Only because the idea of always riding there by myself isn't very exciting! My horses are <mostly> well behaved!!!

Anyone?

Vicki :)

Yes, I do! However, I have a 24 year old who is just a happy hacker, so we tend to mooch around quietly. If you put a notice on Livery yards in Berkshire's facebook page, I am sure there will be other people who are looking for hacking partners.

That's great, thank you. One of my horses is just recovering from a tendon injury so quiet mooching would be good for her :)

Hi,

I have a pass and am sometimes looking for a hacking partner especially weekdays. Have a cob who is brilliant in the park but just coming back from major illness so mooching is all we are doing at the moment. Also have a 4 year old cob who thinks everything is very exciting, leaving the hacking of that one to my daughter when she is home from uni.

Well obviously I tried her first, alas she is too busy to hack out with riff raff like me :p

I can do weekdays as I'm self employed :) Mooching sounds good! Are you stabled near by or do you box there? I have a rising 4 year old too, we could wobble round together!! Although mine is super brave (maybe a bit too much so!) so she would probably be up for a nice grown up ride round!!

I've been contemplating getting a pass. Alf is only mooching (he's doesn't set a very good example to younger horses though, as he is rather adept at performing high school movements) but I don't have transport, and I'm just a teeny bit too far to hack there, hack round the park, and then hack back while he's not fit. He'd keel over!

I'd have to box over as I'm half an hour drive away so you might be on my route....

Dot would look at his high school movements and shake her head disapprovingly in a "I'm a class A student" way! Bug would want to join in but probably wouldn't and id probably get ejected of Bellie!!!

I might be - I'm near Holyport, just off J8/9.
He doesn't go anywhere - just upwards! And he does dragon snorts, which tend to make everyone else think that something awful is about to happen!

I'm near Holyport as well so I box over. Will take my older boy as he just looks on in and I'm sure laughs to himself if anybody is performing gp moves. Has been used to nanny lots of horses and nervous riders around the park, past film shoots, through deer herds only thing he doesn't like is those recliner bikes. Lol.

We quite often see the Queen in the Park - granted, it's usually when she is in the car going to church, but she will wave at you if you wave first!

The Park is great for hacking - you can just go anywhere you like.

Sounds like a meet up is in order - Auslander, I think I know you - you worked at Meca? Bensmum, I think I know you too - how's Benny doing?

Hi,

Ben is doing a bit better at moment on lots of drugs but starting to pick up, he has been hacking around the farm the last couple of days and all he wanted to do was canter.

Starting eating again so take that as a good sign. Hope all is well with you.

Blimey - that was a very long time ago - although, have we had this conversation already? My memory fails me quite regularly!

Ive just gone back through some old threads, and we have talked about this before! Whereabouts are you now?

Auslander - a meet up off horse would be a great I'm also in Holyport on the Ascot Road.

Park passes for this year are £195.00, the new ones start from tomorrow.

Bens mum - we should meet up sometime too (sorry to crash message!!) as we have a pass but no transport at the mo as economising, but can sometimes beg/borrow/steal lorry and hoping to buy one soon enough. Baggage is disappointingly sensible hacking these days and very brave (apart from a daffodil and red cow phobia) she still has a bronc in her if we go too fast but could always use Bens bottom!? :) No longer at the yard I moved to but a new one about 10 mins down the road from you so could always pick you up on the way through (actually up the road technically and then right a bit) xx

Switchthehorse - that would be great, we now have a 3.5 to lorry so can only fit one fattie in at a time.

Jess home from uni soon and I know is looking to go out and have fun, might even be able to persuade her to take our new baby horse.

I have a big truck so could pick up anyone. I think Im loosing interest in it though as it is far from me and quite expensive, but then I sway and think maybe it would be nice and even going twice a month doesn't make it that awful cost wise. Decisions decisions!!
