You can ride on the beach from the leisure centre upto the fitties (its a long way!) You can park at loads of different places, carparks at the boating lake, and top side of fitties (probably the best one). I grew up at Cleethorpes and rode on the beach virtually every day! Xmas day was the best a gallop on a deserted beach before lunch!!
i think our local pony clubs use anderby creek too.i had a riding hols at cleethorpes years ago and there was a nudist beach further up so keep your eyes peeled.
Thanks Keltic. Which is the best place to park so you can actually turn around and get out again? Is that at the top side of fitties? (What is fitties?) I read about dangers of incoming tide and mud. Should I be worried about any of those?
Either place has easy turning, boating lake is large grass car park or fitties think it might be called Thorpe Park now?? has a large car park on the beach front, if you park there you can get straight on the beach and ride along the section that runs along the side of the sand dunes, if you go the other way you can pop a couple of break waters towards the yacht club.
Ahh pants why did i move to Derby!!!
Find the tide times on the internet, dont go if the slightest bit foggy, if you ride the sand dunes side the tide does not come in that far Have fun......
(am originally from grimsby, now in scunny),it was great fun,BUT...even if you go fitties end you will find yourself dodging people and dogs
,whatever you do dont go atm, parking is horrendous, holidaymakers etc,if you set on going here go in september and during the wk,parking then not an issue! You can park at the fitties(thorpe park),we just drove in and parked lengthways as not many people about
However Theddlethorpe beach is awesome,we used to take the racehorses there...amazing stretch of beach and you meet noone...just before you get to mablethorpe!
