Does anyone ride their horse to work?

I start a new job in a few weeks and my employer who is based on a farm seriously asked me if I was going to ride to work!

My mum used to ride to school on her pony and leave it in the adjacent paddock, that was 50 odd years ago

Hehe I used to play a game when I was bored at work where I'd work out what alterations I need to do to be able to ride my horse to work... I worked in Westminster so there were a few! I couldn't decide between putting a stable in the bike shed or fencing off a bit of St James' Park...

I have done a few times when doing late feeds. I work on a racing yard so just popped the ponyin the wee bit of grass beside the walker whilst I fed.

No but I work for the police (as staff) and the police horses are stabled nearby... Often want to ride him here and sneak him into the yard. Wonder if they'd notice a 14:1hh Welshie hanging around...?!

If I didn't end up staying in the office until it is pitch black most nights, I would be so tempted! There is a paddock right opposite the office which is ideal, although I'm sure that the farm manager would have a grumble.

When I had a job as the warden of England and Wales most isolated youth hostel my only form of transport was a horse. I used to take the money to the bank which was a round trip of about 20 miles on the horse. Horse was tied up in the yard behind the bank.

I used to as a teenager. I would ride my horse from the yard she was kept at to the yard I was going to work at (sometimes via the chippy for lunch if I was doing half a day at each yard) and stable her whilst I worked. I also rode her to school to collect my GCSE results!!

I used to take one of the ponies off one of the others up to school to collect my daughter when at junior school on decent weather days.
Never had anywhere to leave a Fuzzy parked at work since I've been doing office work fror the past 10 yrs tho :(

Would depend if it was close enough and if you had a paddock to put it into at the other end I guess! Sounds fun though. My mum walked up to my primary school a few times when I was a kid so I could ride home, that was fun ;)
