As the topic asks, does anyone here run their Diesel cars /
4 X 4's on a fuel other than Petrol/Diesel.

Did you have to get your vehicle modified?
Does that make the carbon emissions zero?
Do you have to do anything else to the vehicle?
Where do you buy the fuel? And what is the tax on it?
Does the car run OK in the winter?

Thanks

I think the oil thing only works on diesel cars, you need to mix the oil with 10% white spirit (or similar- can't remember exactly) and you are legally required to declare it and pay tax on your fuel. I watched an episode of Top Gear once where they ran a Volvo on the mixture. Perhaps try a Google search?

Did use it last year on 2 of ours, my Isuzu ran fine on it, but my hubbys Citroen started with fuel problems, caused by the oil solidifying in the fuel line which then caused it to break down. We had to clean out the fuel lines, take off and clean out the tank and then get all the air out of the system. Lots of people round here use it, but I am Really not sure now!

we had the Landie converted to LPG
we still pay the same TAX and have to have it on petrol to get the emisions down enough for the MOT
but it is cheap to run we get the LPG from a local chichen farm

Hi Fatarse (I feel rude calling you that!!)

Was it used cooking oil or rape seed oil you used? And therefore were your emissions any more / less than normal.

I've got an oldish Daihatsu Fourtrak and am wondering if I could run it on something other than diesel? It failed it's MOT test last year on the emissions, passed after fuel intake adjustment.
