Does anyone use a heart rate monitor & gps on their horse?

Are you planning that the monitor for the horse is worn during ridden work?
I looked at loads earlier this year and bought one in the spring, however I thought that the strap ones could only be worn for lunging or driving the horse and that you need the pads for ridden work? So I bought the one with the two pads and the transmitter.

I have the polar equine one with the little pads which slip in by the shoulder and under the girth. It's great! You have to bear with it a little until you get the knack of the correct amount of lubricant to put on to make the pad contact the horse. Once they start sweating its not a problem though. I attach the transmitter to the loop on the front of my saddle.

I'd give them an email and check what they recommend for what you want to do.

As above, I use polar equine and one of the free apps on a phone for distance time etc, endomodo I think it's called, you can save them on your compute as well so you can have a full record of time, distance and it recorders route on basic map,
Great for training and fittening as you can see how heart rate is improving over time

I have the Equine Fitness girth and bought a garmin separate. Equine Fitness paired my garmin up for me ( was much cheaper that way). I also have the Polar heart rate .
