If so what do you think of it, is it easy to use, stop odours etc, or is it fiddly with having to add water?

Thinking of using it on top of rubber matting for a very wet horse!

Currently use nedz beds.

Just started using it for my very wet and dirty boy - absolutely amazing stuff - I used about 5 bags on top of rubber matting and sprayed with a hosepipe for 5 seconds - I think you are maybe supposed to add more water for it to 'fluff up' but have left mine mostly pellets which stays in place and I havent had to top up for over a week - the bed keeps growing and has stayed very fresh! I do take the worst of the wet out (two or three forkfulls as opposed to a whole barrow of shavings before), although the instructions say to mix this in... Would thoroughly recommend it.

We use wood pellets at work, which is the same as AquaMax but cheaper. It's really, really quick to muck out (providing they don't track it round the box or the yard) and we take out a tenth of what we would with shavings or straw. The muckheap is smaller too which is a bonus! However I hate the stuff and would never use it for my horse, it's not exactly soft for them to lie on, and worst of all it is really dusty (my friend has a horse with RAO and says she wouldn't let him near it). Although I suppose if all you wanted was something to soak up the wet then it would be very effective.

we use straw pellets, find them the most absorbent and no need to add water when putting them down..........which seems very silly with wood pellets

I used aquamax over spring and summer and I agree v quick to look after and small amount to the muck heap. Its not dusty - cheaper woodpellets may be. I am on straw for winter just to prevent drafts and help dry off wet legs. Will go back to it in the spring.

I took out wet patch every 3-4 days and added a bag. Sometimes I put it in a tub and added water, sometimes just added the pellets. Instructions say to mix wet with dry - havent been brave enough to do it but other poster on previous thread said it works well like that.
I had no smell - and my clothes didnt smell of straw either.
As someone said last week - horses don't nest so aren't bothered if it s a flat bed.

Yes I use Aquamax, and I really rate it, I find it better than other cheaper brands of wood pellets, so I pay the extra for it. Easy to use and the least smelly bedding I have come across. Wash your hands, change your boots and you're good to go if you need to be.

I have been using it for several years now, but I have only just discovered that adding dry pellets every once in a while really helps keep the bed pleasant with a very wet pony. I put in about 1/2 bag dry and mix them in to fluff the whole bed up. I had always soaked them first up until then.
