Just wondering if anybody uses rope reins, and if so are they better than normal leather ones!

I like rope reins in the winter as they have the same feel wet or dry and don't get slippery when wet. I use them for hacking most of the year and get on with them just fine. I use split western reins but you can get them in a continuous loop like english reins.

I have cotton reins that were bought for polocrosse about 12 years ago and are still going strong - very similar to these:

I LOVE them! Hate, hate, hate the poly rope ones as they are slippery, they stretch and give you wicked rope burns.

I have been know to even leave them on for dressage!
