Following on from my last post re the rocketing cost of some feeds- I'm considering changing to the above fed in conjunction with cooling cubes for my
2 horses and super fibre cubes for elderly pony after speaking with a nutritionist. Just wondering what results you have had and how long it lasts?

Also has anyone used it for safely conditioning elderly cushings/mildly Laminitic ponies?

I've not tried anything like this before/fed balancers etc as always wondered how necessary they actually were! But any feedback if you'll pardon the pun! would be gratefully received.

Many thanks for your help!.

*Incidently- if anyone has Cushings/metabolic syndrome horses/ponies Saracen said that theres a feed being launched in a few months time- so it will be interesting to find out about it as there is not much out there for these types of horses/ponies!

I use Equijewel for my 16.3hh tb along with Re-leve (as he has been known to suffer from azoturia). The bag has lasted me just over 3 weeks. His coat is fantastic and shiny and Saracen told me that I could take him off his hoof supplement too whist he is on Equijewel which I haven't dared to do yet, but his hoof growth has defnately sped up. I had used outshine for him previously but not with the same results as Equijewel and its cheaper than outshine too.

That sounds really interesting-thank you!

Thats good that you've been able to ditch the foot supplement- one of mine has had slow hoof growth this year for first time ever and he has been on a supplement , so I'd definately be interested too see if theres any difference!

Thanks again!

Hi K27 Lottie has been recommended 2kg Releve and 500g Equijewel with her Alfa a Lite. Currently on Growell diet and she's lost a lot of condition so I may be trying this now?

equijewel has worked well for my horse as well - he was on build-up cubes and I reckon that the cost of equijewel is the same as using the b-u

I feed a number of our livery horses on releve and equiijewel with a scoop of sugarbeet, they look amazing, I have found it to be alot more expensive though
The releve is nearly 13 quid a bag, the equiijewwel 36 quid a bag and the sugarbeet 12quid, to make it last three weeks I use two bags of releve, in all it costs twice as much as those that I feed differently.

good stuff though:-)
