Since a successful fetlock op in 2007, I have always ridden my boy in Prof Choice Sports Medicine boots for support. Does anyone use these for competing XC too?
Is there a reason I've never/rarely seen eventers competing in boots that go around the fetlock or is this just coincidence?
Would love to know as plan to use them for BE at novice level.
Thanks!!

Yes i ride my horse in pro choice SMB's all the time. Be that schooling, hacking SJ or XC (schooling and competing), they are fab!

You never see them racing either.

I think its because they are quite bulky, get quite hot, can soak up water and have no tendon guards.

I used the pro choice SMB's on my old boy as he has also had a fetlock op. I still have them but they have not been used for years now and wouldn't use them now for the reasons that Lec says.

Also while I am thinking about it are they honestly supportive? Is it possible to support the tendons? When you look at human strappings for sport you still see neoprene but the advice is not to use them as you become too dependant on them.
