At work yesterday my boss said that her daughter had gone out to her horses field, and had found two 8-10 week old collie puppies curled up together in the middle of the field

Poor little things, boss's daughter has taken them in and popped them into a spare stable with a nice warm bed for now

OMG!!!! i honestly would but trying to find a rented house with my lot at the monet is proving challenging let alone with another one. As said hope she finds good homes for them x

I couldnt believe it, boss was trying to persuade me to have one but sadly I had to decline

It is just so unnecessary, why do people have to dump dogs when they can go and have them taken in with no questions asked

shame you're so far away as friends of mine are looking for a collie pup. They used to run the local dog classes so would be a wonderful home.

I've love one but never had a collie before apart from the working ones on the farm - do they really make good pet dogs?

Only if they get about 100 hours of exercise every day I believe

are they boys or girls?

I have a collie cross and he is the best dog ever. He does needs lots of exercise though. He spends hours chasing around after a purple rubber squirrel toy.

How anyone can be so cruel to dump them I don't know. poor things.

The best although only as long as you are prepped for the exercise and the fact that they are very clever - so if you don't use their brains they will find ways of distracting themselves.

My lovely girl (13 in June) spent today at a show - 2 hr drive there and back and essentially lurking in lorry with only brief outings BUT she knows the rules of a show and that her role is to be patted and cuddled all day - as well as making sure all is well in her lorry - and looking vile if anyone comes near when we are not there...

She did not go "off duty" until the lorry was cleaned out and closed up after we got home - she then retreated to yard kitchen to have a cuppa and tell everyone about her day.

Has she checked Dogslost (incase they have been stolen then dumped) also might be worth checking for a micro chip (just incase). I know it's a long shot, but a friend of friend had their pup stolen from their garden, it was promptly dumped when they realised he was chipped. Sadly they dumped him on a main road, where he was then run over and killed.

Yes they make fab pets!!!
most do need lots of exercise, however mine does switch off if given the chance and will just chill out!
However some I know go mental and will destroying everything left in reach!

And of course they have a great gradient in between!

Had never thought of that PS! I will catch up with her at work tomorrow and ask her what has happened, and if the pups are still with them I will suggest they get them scanned for chips. I suspect she might have handed them in to a rescue place over the weekend mind you, she was adamant that they werent keeping them
