Scared of almost everything, gets a stress related skin condition, resulting in her trying to eat her own legs and stomach, barks at anything/everything and chases airborne seagulls for 2 miles down the beach oblivious of OH and I calling her.

Little swine, when we did eventually catch up with her she wanted to tip toe delicately through the stones on the beach so as to not get her little tootsies wet. I, on the other hand was not going to negotiate the slippy stones so made her paddle in the sea. She was not amused, but it made me feel better :D Even though I praised her for coming back (eventually!) I said it through gritted teeth with my fingers crossed behing my back, so I think she realised I wasn't overly amused with her!

While the other two were play fighting on the beach 'madam' had to stand and watch as she is now banned from being off lead when there is a chance of seagully flying past, which, lets face it, is always!

She was my brothers dog, I lay the blame firmly in his court for never training her!
 
Glad you got her back. My fella is still on a 10m long line at the beach for similar reasons.
Means he can have a run and he recalls 99% of the time now but I can grab it if I need to.

Are you sure the skin thing is purely stress? What is she fed on? Also a lot of JRTs get contact allergies, grass, pollen etc :)
 
She can't go anywhere but down several miles of beach, but it is a pain in the backside, so will put her on the long line from now on. Strangely she isn't particularly bothered about rabbits, but flying birds drive her mad!

Yes it's stress. She had skin scrapes, allergy tests etc, etc, etc done when she lived with my brother, and nothing was found. She is ok with us but any changes set her off again. She did it for a couple of weeks when we moved here, as soon as she saw my brothers kids when they visited in September she started dragging herself accross the floor, and she is currently having an itchy spell because Elsie has joined the family.

She is just a major stress head and a pain the backside :D
