She was a little moo this morning :(. We went out alone. As soon as you leave the yard you are on a national road, there is a pavement we go along though then cross over the road and get on our way. There was some roadworks going on, she was very looky, went sidewards around it but otherwise ok. Then she saw it! The killer sign! She spun and started to canter back to the yard. Stopped her, turned her round and kicked her on. She spun again and tried to go back to the yard, stopped her and faced the sign and talked to her. She then jumped sidewards into the road!! Luckily no cars. Got off and tried to lead her past. She eventually did go past and I decided not to remount on the side of the road, so carried on leading. Over the road onto a quite dead end road. There was a stepping stone so used that as a mounting block. She bloody spun and tried to go off home again!! :@ turned her round and tried to mount again, this time she runs backwards. Walked her on then tried to mount from ground, she spins again, try again and she backs up! Was getting very upset with her at this point. A kind man came out his house and offered to hold her whislt I got on. She stood rock still then! Mounted and thanked the man and carried on my way. She was on edge the whole way round but we eventually got back home. Past the scary sign which she didn't batter an eyelid at! Arghhhh! Anyone want her? Lol

Naughty cow pony. My daughters can be a total butt head. He can go past something in one direction and be fine and turn himself inside out from the other direction. Reading a Kelly Marks book she says that cowboys always do things on both sides so they can train each eye!

No...got one of my own thanks:) 20 years old and bloody spooks at random invisible things.. Visible scary roadsigns which have changed position from the previous day and the hedgerows which apparently hide a multitude of horse eating monsters. He was on full alert this morning and keep going  every few yards. Luckily no attempts to run away or head for home but he did have 4 friend's for company. I've started playing the same game and I join in the  it's a monster game but he just ignores me:D

Shes usually perfect in company. And fine hacking alone in summer! When her turnout is reduced and shes asked to go out alone, another story! Lol

I wonder if the slightly milder weather has anything to do with it...my TB who is totally bombproof..literally a bird scarer went off that neither of us had seen within 2 m's of us, scared me to death, he didnt bat an eyelid! but a random car parked on the verge that isnt normally there freaked him out...Im sure he 'decides' to be scared just to give me the occasional reminder that he is a 'racehorse' you know. I think you were very brave to keep going...I know when I fall off it will really really hurt!

It must be brown and white thing as that is what mine was always like to ride. She would shy at the smallest of things but something big and scary she would go straight past. It's not a black and white thing though as my black and white one has been a star again today :D.

I always make my tb face what's spooking him so he knows its okay but I e read. Few articles that have said all him past holding the other rein so he can't see why's spooking him. Maybe an idea? Very annoying though well done for carrying on
