Thinking waterproof, warm, winter, saddle covering, horse loin covering.... seems like a good idea but never seen anyone use on in real life?

I love mine, wear it doing jobs around the yard and then on horse. It is made from wax jacket type material with a lovely wool lining. My friends is more of a soft shell type material.

I have my 'hi viz flaps' as I affectionately call them - Horze brand hi viz skirt with zip up front -not loin covering but saddle and thigh covering. Bloody wonderful in winter. I'm planning on investing in a better one for winter as I am a 'hot' person but my thighs freeze!

Do you know what brand your friend's is? Although a shorter one would be fine as I have exercise sheets anyway.

Arctic horse gear seems to be having a break this year else I'd be looking to get one from them.

MrPF might want one too. ? Is it a riding kilt if a bloke is wearing it?

I'm just pleased they seem to be a real thing and I'm not completely crazy.

Ooooh I’ve wanted one for ages!
Looked at the noble one which seems to be impossible to buy now or maybe a uhip.
If anyone has one I’d love to know what you think

they are both from Arctic horse - I saw they were on a break as friends on the yard want to order theirs, having seen ours! Well worth the wait and money imo.

Cor! That's lovely

All these things look great on the models, but I'm imagining slobber/bits of hay/mud/hairs all over them
The wax cotton ones would probably be easiest to keep clean(ish)

Those look awesome - feel like I’d need a very smart jacket and a veil to go with them - my scruffy hi-viz outfit would rather spoil the effect.

ETA I really want one now !

You must get MrPF one in tartan

Am so conflicted, I want a classy elegant Cortez style skirt but as most of my winter riding involves hacking so a sensible fluorescent one is much more advisable......but.......I want to look elegant zipping about ?

I'm going to go for elegant on the bottom.... flouro builders jacket on the top. ? It'll be a look.

Save the nice jacket and hat with a veil for mimbling round the fields... or beach rides. ?

I've got the eqco one and it's nice, but I really wanted something more along the lines of Cortez's picture so I bought one of these from etsy

It's really gorgeous wool and cashmere, soft and heavy, made to measure for no extra cost.
Cor, that's lovely! Must make some. The Portuguese one is actually culottes, which I find very easy to ride in (and exceptionally elegant to wear in the bar after the fiesta......)

Friend has the Arctic one but iirc it was extremely expensive c.£500? Absolutely gorgeous though and great for winter hacking. The Etsy one is lovely Amirah and quite reasonable!
