I've read quite a bit recently about calmers which ones work etc etc. does anyone have any experience of using Brewers Yeast and or MagOx? Got a spooky warm blood x TB who has had a couple of months off and is coming back into work. He just gets anxious with anything new or not in his normal routine

Both do. If your horse is uppity because it is magnesium deficient (and many horses on spring grass are) then MgO will calm it. If your horse is uppity because of hind gut disturbance (and many are) then brewers yeast will calm it.

Likewise, if he is calcium deficient, bio-available calcium will calm him. Try them all and see what works best, but I would try the BY first because of its beneficial health effects, and only one at a time or you won't know what worked.

Yeah like Cptrayes said they all do but try them one at a time. I give mag oxide to my horse just in winter and spring. Just keeps the edge off him during spring grass time. I buy mine off ebay, got 2 bags in Dec at £9 incl postage and just opened second bag so cheap and mines a 17.1hh full ID. Good luck.
