3 months ago I was virtually rolling up £5 notes and feeding them to skinny pony

2 months ago I was wondering whether it was fair to keep him going he was in such poor condition

tonight a good check over and his ribs are virtually covered, this bum has lost most of the triangle shape from behind, this neck looks 100% better, and he clearly feels much better in himself.

it's almost a miracle and the cure ............... just grass, he's on far far less hard feed now than three months ago and stopping completely as of now. He's like a different horse

Dr Green is now my recommended advice for all ills

Sorry for pointless post just very happy to see him back to his old self.

PS untreatable tooth problem is the underlying issue, sadly it's keep weight on him or PTS.

The rabbits in our fields certainly seem to be multiplying lots now the grass is here - clearly it's the cure for breeding problems too - if they are anything to go by!

I hope everyone else who's had skinny horse problems this winter is showing as much improvement as we've had.

Glad to hear this.Knobberpony came out of winter looking a bit ribby and is slowly putting a bit of weight on.I moved her onto fresh grazing today so hope she continues to improve.

I'm hoping to be amazed shortly! My TB is looking a bit ribby and generally dull but is moving to a lovely new field on Monday. He is currently on a completely bare (no exaggeration, it looks like an all weather surface!!) patch so I can't wait to get him moved :D :D

I'm hoping to be amazed shortly!

I'm sure you, and everyone else in similar situation, will be. My vet thought lots of previously good doers have suffered this year for the first time.

I can't overstate the change in my boy - I don't have before photos (I'd be ashamed of them and be ripped to shreds posting them on here certainly!) now I'd happily take him to a vetren in hand show with pride, all with just a few weeks grass.

Aye and its firing them up now as well :eek:time to cut back on the hard feed :D

One of mine has gone completely mental on it this week. Was looking very poor to the point I was getting concerned so I put her on a conditioning feed as grass just wasn't appearing. Now with just a slight turn in the weather and the fields looking only a little greener she's tearing about like a madwoman when I turn her out, jogging about snorting. All of a sudden it seems she's got a proper covering over her ribs and fab glossy coat has come from nowhere! Loving it! Roll on summer! :D

We still don't seem to have an awful lot and ours are still looking rather trim. Not a bad thing for a couple of them but am hoping for a bit more of the green stuff soon!

Can't quote on phone but what DTP said! Apologies if thats the wrong username but couldn't check once I'd started typing. Anyway, agreed that Dr Green is fab
