This is my share horse not long after I first started riding him, around 4 months ago. [We went XC schooling, it was my third time riding him!]

And this is how he looked last week. Excuse the pleb on top, my boyfriends first time on a horse!

Does he look better? Sorry they're not great pictures, wish I'd taken some proper side on photos of him but he always stood in such funny positions! I've been trying to school him, hopefully I've made some sort of difference...

ETA: I just noticed he is a completely different colour now! Quite interesting to see those photos next to each other!

OMG Yes!

Well done!

He looks so much more alert and happy. I rescued a horse 3 years ago. It is different to your situation but I was so proud of his first photo's but it was later on I saw how sad he was when i first got him. The photo's i showed to everyone when i got him make me feel like crying now that I know him and can see how sad he was.

Your boy looks like a different horse and I can definitely see a difference in him. he is obviously very happy with you.

Looking fabtastic , all muscled up in the right places - I would like to say though , and please don't take offence - your poor boyfriend does NOT look like a pleb , he looks relaxed and happy as does your horse and it's great to see some OH's involved , mine sticks to two wheels and certainly wouldn't entertain getting on board , so big thumbs up to your man.

Thanks for the kind words guys, feeling pretty proud of myself now! Sadly I'll have to stop working with him in September as I'm moving, such a shame, I think he could do well if the work was kept up but sadly his owner doesn't have the interest in schooling, she mainly hacks and hunts. I'm hoping we can go to a show at the beginning of September and have a bit more success than last time, we never made it over the first jump. That'd be a great way to finish!

I'll have to tell him this! I think he might just keep riding, he's SO keen to have another go, it's great, I get to boss him around so he's safe! :P

Thanks :) We're hopefully heading to some clear round jumping on Sunday, could be interesting! Last time I took him out I couldn't even get him over the first jump of the course..

My OH will be getting back on tomorrow or Thursday, he said the best bit was getting a leg up! Personally I hate them!
