been lookinh at leg wraps etc for my boy who has strained a tendon? is it worth buying some?

I ask my old vet (now sadly retired) this question a couple of years ago. He was a brilliant vet but very old school and sceptical about fringe treatments.
His comment was and I quote..."I cant say it definitely works but I have seen too may positive results to discount it"

I took that as a yes

If you do a search in Vet sec you will find a huge debate on the subjuct in there

I have started using them on my horse, before and after competition, not because he needs it but I had some RSA type pain in my wrist so I wear one and I personally have found the results amazing hence why I'm using them on my boy!

My vet is of exactly the same opinion with the provisio that it does not suit all horses or dogs; exactly like humans. You'll lose nothing by trying it out and everything to gain in my view cos you can always sell them on ebay!

It seems to be the same as most treatments - works for some, does not work for others. I would say its worth trying though, i have had some very good results with magnetic wraps/rugs.

Had the same reply from my vet when asked the same thing. He's unable to give a definitive yes, but equally he's seen lots of clients use them with good results.

Ive used magnotherapy products for many years now and on several different horses and all of them have responded well. I use them on myself too

Personally, I think they're worth a go and then you can decide for yourself whether or not you see an improvement.

Just make sure you buy suitable products! Leg wraps are my favourite because they can be left on over night. I dont like products in brushing boot format because for me, it limits their useage as they nearly always make the legs sweat.

my boy strained a tendon back in october, brought him back in to light work after xmas but found he was very stiff through neck and shoulder, got an equissage lady out and she put a magnetic therapy cradle on his neck and then boots on his legs, hes had treatment once a week for the past 5 weeks and hes a completely different horse ! i would highly reccoment it !
