Does more feed balancer equal a better "portion" of nutrients?

Possibly slightly obscure title. However, been thinking.

I'm just about to put my horse on NAF 5* balancer, to see if a balancer will help me how I want to feed my horse. (Small packet, and it doesnt last very long, but need a pelleted version). With this you only feed 100g a day.

If I feed AN Other pelleted version, you will be looking at say 500g per day. My horses diet is somewhat low in protein, so common sense to me says that in theory, they will be getting a bigger dose of protein in the 500g a day portion, rather than the 100g a day portion. (Obviously assuming that the protein content of both products are similar!)

Thoughts?

Big assumption! ;)

A quick google reveals the composition of some other big bag balancers for comparison
Topspec: Oils and fats 6%, Protein 25%, FIbre 8%
Spillers: oil 6%, protein 25%, fibre 8%
NAF 5* Optimum: oils & fats 2.4%, protein 10.4%, fibre 64%

Just picked those off the top of my head. I feed a different one, at the recommended amount, because in theory my horse should be getting her recommended amounts of vits & mins etc. I wouldn't feed more as it's an expensive way to feed e.g. protein - I would use an alternative source if I felt more was needed e.g. copra to supplement my balancer I think.

don't forget your horse will be getting protein from his forage.

The NAF balancer in my mind is very very low in goodness anyway and a complete ripoff. I feed linseed for the protein and feed equimins advance complete which puts most balancers to shame
Sit down and work out what the balancer provides in a dose, I done this a while ago and equimins came up on top by far
