we baught a horse early on this year. and recently had the thaught she could be pregnant. she hasnt been in heat, shows no attention to the rigs in the field and her belly is looking quite big but low which wouldnt make sense because the grazing has been bad from the bad weather she would have no reason to be big. Also, a biggish vein running along her belly and white speckles on her teats but she hasnt bagged up her back end seems quite soft. we got in contact with the woman we baught her off and she said that she was covered last year but she has her scanned and nothing showed up so she sold her on to us. we have the vet coming out at the end of the week but just wanted to know if you guys think that it is a possabilty because its going to cost a lot for a call out. :)

Need better photos, but going on what you have given there, I'd say nope, not in foal.
But, she could be small, a maiden? or due much later on in the year? Only a vet can tell you for sure!

yeah we deffinatly need an answer its all to confusing people on our yard seem to think she is and normally you can see movement in her flank/ lower abdomen area and ribs when she takes a drink that seems to irritate her so she kicks her legs. she doesn't seem at all like her self she has gone so quiet. but we dont know much at all about pregnant mares

Can't tell on the pregnancy but the bit I can see she is the spitting image of a mare I used to know! Whats her name, how old is she, do you have a head shot?

We had a similar situation with our mare, she had a big low belly but no weight elsewhere, was very quiet and hadn't had a season. We got the vet in the end just so we could be sure and vet was able to confirm she was in foal by rectal examination. She's supposed to be due in the next few weeks but still doesn't look particularly pregnant. Could you speak to the previous owner, if she had her covered then she should have a date that you can work from? Might give you a better idea as to whether she is or not - if the dates suggest she would be due any time now then she probably isn't?

Well its been complicated because I think she got covered late last summer but we don't know for sure but we are just going to have her checked to see. We are almost certain she is by the way she seems but again have doubts lol. I never knew horses were so hard to determine
