Hi,
I'm thinking of showing my 3 year old in hand and was wondering if anybody knows if he need to wear identity tails ribbons so others know his still stallion? (like they d for kickers)
He is very easy going and laid back so know his not going to be difficult but was just wondering as i am a complete show novice.

It is common courtasy to put in a white ribbon in a stallions tail regardless of its behavior, mainly just because there are some tarty mares out there who like to throw themselves at strapping young lads!

As Ezme said. Because I know for a fact if my mare was around him her tail would be up. She is a slapper, to be blunt

White ribbons for stallions.
Green for Green and young horses.
Red for kickers!

Yep thats right. When my mare goes hunting this season she will be armed with a red and green ribbon!!!

When showing in hand I have never seen white ribbons in tails, think it is more of a thing in other areas of competiting. Unless stated, most affiliated showing classes expect to have stallions entered.

I have been in the ring many times with stallions, mares and geldings and the stallions have all been extremely well behaved.

So in answer to your question, I would not be putting a ribbon in his tail for showing.
