Now obviously he is a stinky, soggy, muck heap moutaineering spangle but I keep him clipped to keep the smell down and he does insist on swimming in the brook every day no matter how hot or cold!!

Have never really considered it before but today I went to the tack shop and they have luuuuuuurevly fleecey coats for dogs and it has occured to me that in Sweeps advancing years maybe he should have one especially as he and Max will be out in the garden when i am out - they do have access to the utility room which has the boiler in it. But I am worried that Sweeplet will get cold as for the last few years I left him in the house.

So am i turning soft and turning the Sweeplet into a big jessie? or should I buy my special boy a nice fleecey coat and hope his mates (and the cats!!) don't laugh at him??

Only thing is - if it gets wet will it make him colder?

I would probably go for an extra warm bed out of the draughts myself, maybe a crate with a blanket over it then loads of warm bedding in it so he can curl up in the cosy, and keep drying the bedding out every night so he has somewhere warm and cosy to hide.

I agree with this.
A warm cosy area at home would be best.

I am about to buy a rug for Pops for this winter, but not for whilst she's at home, or when she's out running around, but for when she is out but on the lead/is sitting still, as she does get v shivery and you can tell she feels cold.

I have decided to get one for Matty dog this year. When I am doing the yard ahe gets quite cold. She is an old lady now so I think she deserves some pampering.
Sage doesn't stay still long enough to get cold and Dexter would rip my hand off if I tried to put a coat on him!!

Mmmm........thankies!!

Think I might buy him one as he is getting on. He can have it on after his walk/swim/mountaineering to keep him toasty while hanging out in the garden while I'm at work. Assuming of course Max and the cats don't take it off or tease him too much...........
