I am after a d ring snaffle with a Mullen mouthpiece. Can I find one? Only as an expensive sprenger duo ( anyone got one they want to sell me?). I just want a cheap stainless steel one! Anyone help?

Oddly, D ring mullen mouth snaffles are a rare breed - fixed ones are almost always eggbuts!
You could almost certainly get one made up by a company like Myler that does mix and match design but it will likely cost you. It might be worth combing the American sites as D rings are the cheek of choice for Hunters.

I want to try a Mullen mouth on mine, but want some thing that is less likely to be pulled through his gob (feisty fella) and will aid in steering, but having been hooked on a full cheek at my belt by a pony rubbing on me as a kid, I do not want a full cheek bit!
The Mullen mouth might not work so was hoping for a cheap and cheerful stainless steel £15 bit - no such luck!

Are you looking for a proper fixed slightly curved mullen mouth or a more myler style one? I have a Billy Allen snaffle that's a bit like a myler, it's got a bit of movement in it but not much at all. Was about £26 ish from HKM I think, is a D-ring. Dan likes his

Billy Allen seem to make two similar ones, but one appears to have narrower attachments to the barrell in the centre, so it has a bit more movement in it so is more like a bit with a lozenge, but this one doesn't have much movement besides the rotation... at least the one I have doesn't!

The copper one has inbetween shape rings - straighter sides than an eggbut but rounder corners than a D ring. It should have similar action to a D ring.
For a try out how about a kimblewick? With no curb it works like a hanging cheek D ring?

You can get mullen mouth hanging cheeks, I know because I have one. That wouldn't get pulled through the mouth.
