I know it's hard to tell from jumping pics - but they are all I have that were taken recently.

My dad has been telling me my horse is so poor (he means poor muscle, he recognises the fat tum!) , that he must be suffering.... I don't see it myself... what do you think????

I don't think you have a problem otherwise he wouldn't be jumping like that (he looks a lovely type). If he is happy in himself, working OK and has not had any sudden muscle wasteage I wouldn't worry. If you want to build a bit more topline I've fed Feedmark Enhance and found it a brill product. It has worked better on my horses then other brands.

Just read your post in SB. Dont worry about it, he was probably just a bit pissed and wanted a brawl and this was the only thing he could think of. Chin up chuck, he is talking out his arse

He doesn't look great - but he never has done! He's just not a good shape and gets a big fat tum in the summer but never gets heaps of muscle. Then again he has heaps of energy and power - so I'm not too worried.

Dad has a gorgeous little TB, who does look stunning, but he's a completely different build and size to Badger so I don't really see how you can compare??

Thanks everyone BTW.

Your horse is not fat, he's a beauty! Don't feel guilty for what anyone tells you! I'm sure he's happy how he is.
This is a fat horse!

He looks happy, is happy, he is very strong, can jump well, and can win in 1,20m; he´s almost unbeatable!
He always had this big fat tum and big head, during 14 years.
Not very pretty.
So?????
I loooooooooove him!! He gave the greatest moments!
Can send you a vid if you want, and see how fat horses jump and beat stunning looking horses!

My boy has a big tummy in the summer. The rest of him is a reasonable size though. Well covered but not cresty or fat pads anywhere. Lacking real muscle tone at the moment as not ridden regularly due to other commitments. He is naturally a round sort not lean like a TB.

I think your horse looks fine.

Uncle JR I have to disagree with you. The pic you put up of the 'fat' horse, isn't. He has a big grass belly but not much covering anywhere else.

My horse looks similar at the moment. He has a bit of fat from the grass (too much I expect). He does not have that much muscle as I am only able to exercise 2-3 times/week.

I'd say your horse looks the same. Can't really see whether he has much muscle - without a groundwork or stationary 'on the ground' pic.
