Thanks Beth - that looks very interesting. Not sure my feed merchant stocks it but I am sure he can get it. I'll look into it. Have toyed with the idea of adding linseed for condition too.

Tierra - sorry. No idea. Have always guessed at IB x TB but no real idea. Previous owners didn't seem to know. He came from Ireland originally and was hunted as a whip's horse. He's a good sort though - very easy to do, rarely any problems. Likes his hunting and jumping! Not so keen on stressage - we share that trait!!

hes not tragically thin and he looks fine to me. feeding depends on what work hes in and what sort of stuff you dow ith him though.

He's very very similar looking to my horse in his head... even his stripe on his face is the same... Quite similar conformation also although yours looks like he may have a bit more bone.

Mine is a pain to keep weight on also
